The Library Catalogue
The Library Management System is called Accessit and is very user friendly. Anyone can see the Home Page and search for books. Students will have a login enabling them to access additional features such as reserving books and writing book reviews.
The One Search tool in Accessit is extremely useful for accessing digital resources such as the BBC, National Geographic, Ted Talks, Financial Times, local public libraries, and JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee), which provides digital resources in support of further and higher education.

Benefits of Reading
Reading is an accessible and enjoyable activity and a great way to relax. Moreover, widespread research (1,2,3) has shown that reading improves focus, memory, empathy and communication skills and is one of the best ways in which you can develop as an independent learner.

Accelerated Reader
- In Year 7, we use the Accelerated Reader (AR) programme (also known as Renaissance Place) to monitor and support students' reading development.
- Every title on the Year 7 Reading List has an associated AR quiz. Students should complete the quiz as soon as possible after finishing each book.
- Students are expected to read approximately 20 pages of their school library book each day (100 pages a week).
- Students must successfully pass one AR quiz on a book at the correct level for their development once per half term.
