At QEHS we were so disappointed that this year's Work Experience Programme could not take place. Many of you worked hard to secure a place, and will share this disappointment. However all is not lost. We are fortunate that Work Experience 2020 can be supported by the resources offered by Oak National Academy: https://www.thenational.academy/
The Virtual Work Experience for 2020, is freely accessible to all. This comes highly recommended for Year 10 students, aimed at filling the gap and enhancing future CVs with a credible Work Experience Programme. By engaging with the programme students should record their notes and findings, submitting relevant work to Mrs Thorpe via email or handing in the project on return to school in September.
Whether students take advantage of the full programme on offer, or just use sections of personal interest over the summer, by keeping a log of the work carried out, (screen shots for example), their work will be acknowledged with a certificate on return to school in September. This will then form part of the essential Record of Achievement that students build throughout their school career. For those students without internet access, there are alternative tasks to undertake as part of the programme.
Accessing the materials from Oak National Academy is fairly straight forward. Use the following sequence as a guide:

For those unable to access the internet from home, alternative projects are highlighted below:
We hope that Year 10 students use this latest and valuable resource, so as not to be disadvantaged in the future by the omission of their Work Experience 2020.
